Houses in Multiple Occupation - Article 4 Direction
The event is not currently available for consultation.
Plymouth City Council have made an Article 4 Direction. If it is confirmed, this means that anyone wanting to turn a property into a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) for 3 or more unrelated people in the area being affected by the direction will have to apply for Planning Permission from the Council.
This is an opportunity for you to give us your thoughts on the proposals. The consultation will run from 13 September to 5pm on 25 October 2011.
The Article 4 Direction is available to view by clicking on the supporting documents at the bottom of this page and by clicking on the view and comment button below. Also available is a map of the overall area that could be affected by the changes and maps showing each neighbourhood in more detail.
Cabinet met on the 23 August to consider the matter. The detailed report that they considered is available from our committee pages : View the committee report
More information is also available on our article 4 web page at www.plymouth.gov.uk/hmoarticle4
If the changes are confirmed then they would come into force on the 14 September 2012.
